Blackberry Dumplings

Something sweet and a little different,, I bought 3 packages of round wonton wrappers and I need to use ASAP, well lets do something sweet,,,,

  • 1 package frozen round dumpling wrappers
  • 13 ounces blackberry jam (preferably homemade)
  • 3.5 ounces peeled almonds and/or walnuts, chopped
  • 1 grated rind of orange or lemon

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F.
  2. Prepare all the ingredients for the filling, including chopping finely the nuts (a mixture of both almonds and walnuts is nice),  . Warm the jam in a small saucepan on low heat and add it to all the other ingredients you’re using for the filling.
  3. Place about a tablespoon of filling in the middle of the wrapper 
  4. Arrange them on a cookie sheet, greased  and bake until the dumplings are lightly golden. When they are cool, dust them with icing sugar. Enjoy with a nice little cup of espresso!
